Treasurer Leslie Cummings presented the town's current account status and the proposed FY2026/2027 budgets for the General Revenue and Coal Severance funds at a budget workshop held March 16, 2026. The workshop opened at 5:03 p.m. and ran until approximately 6:22 p.m., during which Cummings and Mayor Rezin Hudkins discussed potential and requested changes for the coming fiscal year.
Councilors Rick Lafferty, Karen Phillips and Charlene Louk raised questions about the proposals and sought clarifications; Treasurer Cummings answered those questions. After discussion, all members present voiced satisfaction with the proposed General Revenue and Coal Severance budgets. No formal motion or recorded vote was taken during the workshop; the meeting was adjourned by acclamation at about 6:22 p.m.
