Capital facilities chapter would compile park, public-safety and civic projects for funding

Dominic told the council the capital facilities element collects projects the city wants to pursue—water projects, road upgrades, parks improvements and potential fire or police facility investments—so the list can be shown to county and state funders when seeking project support.
Chair noted Wachowski Park upgrades, festival infrastructure and improved trail amenities as items residents have requested. "Revamping Wachowski Park is definitely on the council's horizon," the Chair said, and members discussed parking, picnic sites and stage improvements. Dominic recommended commissioners propose candidate projects now so staff can include them in the draft capital list for prioritization and grant applications.
The capital facilities list feeds both the six-year TIP and longer-range priorities; projects can be moved in or out of the 6-year horizon depending on council preference and funding opportunities.
