County Commissioner Willis Lefevre reported to the council that the CIB is being moved to the Department of Housing and that approximately $100 million in upcoming state funding is expected for low- and moderate-income housing projects in rural and metropolitan areas. He cautioned that program details and availability have not yet been announced.
Lefevre also said a Vernal-area refinery/asphalt pit is projected to be operational within roughly 18 months, initially handling about 80 truckloads with potential expansion to approximately 250 truckloads; he noted this could change regional highway traffic patterns and will require ongoing coordination with UDOT, including attention to U.S. Highway 40 and Seabridge Road.
