Board of Pardons and Paroles approves multiple pardons and hearings, denies several applications

At its Aug. 3 public meeting the Connecticut Board of Pardons and Paroles granted multiple full pardons, set dozens of hearings and denied several applications — including one COE — citing recent supervision problems or active protective orders.
The Connecticut Board of Pardons and Paroles on Aug. 3 considered expedited prescreen files, certificates of employability (COE) and requests for full and absolute pardons, approving many pardons and hearings while denying a subset of applications.
Chair Michael Pohl opened the session and reminded applicants of timelines and procedural limits, saying, “If you are granted an absolute pardon today, it may take up to 10 weeks for the date from the date of this hearing to erase your criminal history securely and safely from the public record.” The board then proceeded through COE reviews and an expedited pardon docket, voting on each case after deliberation.
