Coralville on July 28 adopted Resolution No. 2026-114 to authorize a $198,000 Community Development Block Grant for a Housing Rehabilitation Roof Replacement Program. City Administrator Kelly Hayworth said the grant will replace six roofs and that ECICOG expects about a 30‑day environmental and contracting process before applications open.
Hayworth said the grant will cover 100% of roof replacement cost up to $30,000 per home and partner social‑service agencies submitted letters of support to help with outreach. ECICOG will accept applications either in paper or online and assist applicants with form completion; applications will be processed on a first‑come, first‑serve basis. The city plans to publicize availability through its e‑newsletter, posters and a press release.
