Board approves annual audit, hears budget update and sets tax-levy hearing for Dec. 17

The board unanimously approved the 2024–2025 annual audit during its Oct. 15 meeting. Finance Director Justin Krueger reported that the district has received approximately $25.89 million in revenues year to date (about 78% of the budgeted total) and recorded roughly $7.35 million in expenditures (about 20% of budgeted expenditures). The district filed its 2025–26 budget with the Illinois State Board of Education and the Winnebago and Boone county clerks before statutory deadlines.
The board set the tax-levy hearing for Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hononegah School District Library (motion by Geddeis; second Haab). Krueger also noted statutory reporting requirements for IMRF public compensation postings and said the 2024–25 Annual Statement of Affairs will be published Oct. 16, 2025.
