Metamora readies engineering steps as federal funding for public safety building is announced Feb. 6

Deputy Clerk Katie Garber told trustees that a congressional appropriation for the public safety building has been approved and a press release is scheduled for Feb. 6 at the firehouse where Congressman LaHood will be in attendance to announce the funding.
Engineer Bob Kohlhase of Farnsworth reported next engineering steps are needed to advance the public safety building project given the federal funding approval. He said bringing water to the 135-acre site and planning for future sewer services are required before further construction steps, and noted Farnsworth will meet with village staff to develop implementation plans.
Kohlhase also said Farnsworth will meet with village staff and Jason regarding the MFT implementation plan for 2026 and that streetscape conceptual plans are awaiting committee and board approval before engineering continues.
