IDA: Park Grove, Curtis School and other local projects moving toward construction

James Johnson provided a multi‑project update from the Steuben County Industrial Development Agency, saying the Park Grove housing project in Erwin is a planned 90‑unit development that held a pre‑construction meeting and expects to close in May before beginning construction. "Park Grove is a 90‑unit housing project in Erwin. We held our first pre‑construction meeting with the town and team a few weeks ago, they are looking to close in May and start construction very soon thereafter," Johnson said.
Johnson said the Curtis School redevelopment is finalizing incentives including New York Forward and Restore New York funds, with demolition and abatement under way and a scheduled closing in June. He also noted the Town of Urbana approved bonding to reconstruct the Champlain Beach pier, with removal of the old structure starting in July and work expected to finish by October. The IDA said it is awaiting state announcements on Bath New York Forward awards and is discussing potential DRI opportunities with Corning.
