"We were awarded a grant for a natural disaster. Basically, a seismic study is what it was," a board member said while explaining why the inspections were thorough. The report flagged issues ranging from cracked or improperly fastened hardy plank cladding to soot and repainting needs in the CTE welding area; the board discussed patch repairs and options for replacement during the EP&O levy cycle.
Board members said smaller repairs may be handled directly and that more extensive work will be prioritized and budgeted as part of the planned levy period (01/01/2026–2029). They also discussed the importance of having architects and construction documents in place before a bond election to control costs in the current inflationary environment.
