Items 12–16 in the City Administrator’s report covered emergency and maintenance purchases for the Utilities Department. Council authorized the emergency purchase of a 167 kVA overhead transformer from American Electric Power for $7,967.34 and a reconditioned 500 kVA pole mount transformer from T&R Electric for $9,990.00. The council also authorized a Biochemical Oxygen Demand incubator from USABlueBook for $6,977.75, a rebuild of a 167 kVA voltage regulator from T&R Electric for $3,651.00, and 7,500 feet of underground wire from Power Line Supply for $31,725.00.
All purchases were recorded in the minutes and charged to the Utilities Division’s respective budgets (Transformers, Machinery & Equipment, Maintenance Equipment – Brandywine Substation, Wire & Cable). The motions carried by roll-call votes as noted in the minutes.
