Metamora staff to issue public safety building press release as USDA grant work continues

Village staff told trustees Feb. 3 that a press release for the public safety building is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 6, and that follow-up meetings with the USDA have begun as the grant-management agency for a four-million-dollar grant.
Cole McDaniel reported the press release timing and that internal meetings are scheduled to continue work on grant requirements and implementation. Trustee Weyeneth later mentioned Goodfield State Bank had expressed interest in funding the portion of the project not covered by the grant.
The board did not take additional formal action on financing at this meeting beyond noting bank interest and scheduling the press release; further steps and any funding commitments will require future board approval.
