The Village of Metamora Board of Trustees approved a conceptual streetscape design on Feb. 3 and directed staff to pursue cost estimates for the next phase.
Laura Tobben of Farnsworth presented the conceptual plan and fielded trustees' questions. Deputy Village Clerk Katie Garber told the board that "this portion of the design needs to be approved by the Village trustees before Farnsworth can move on to the next phase of the design." Trustee Bowers moved to approve the concept and the motion passed 5–0.
During new-business discussion Cole McDaniel noted the ITEP grant as a possible funding source to pursue in the fall for the streetscape work. No specific cost estimates were presented at the meeting; trustees approved continuing design efforts and exploring funding, leaving detailed budgeting and grant applications for future agenda items.
