The Mount Carroll City Council unanimously approved routine business at its July 22 meeting, including acceptance of the July 8, 2025 minutes and authorization of accounts payable totaling $87,436.37. The roll-call vote for the payables recorded five yes votes and one absent member.
Council also approved a set of community and personnel actions: a permit for music in the bandstand at Point Rock Park on July 26, 2025; a $100 donation to the Pheasants Forever Scholarship; and the hiring of Larissa (Lara) Zink as front desk staff at the Davis Community Center at a starting pay of $15.00 per hour. The council approved the purchase of a 2024 Durango from John Jones Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram and Fiat for $42,787.50 and authorized $850.00 payment to Shawn Picolotti for transporting the vehicle after the 2021 Durango was totaled by the insurer following a police pursuit.
The motions were recorded in roll-call votes with five yeses and one absence where noted. No items were tabled; routine financial actions were supported by the Finance Committee's recommendation to pay 28 accounts payable items totaling $87,436.37.
