The Planning Board recommended Article 5, which would include Tiny Homes in the Zoning Ordinance’s Chart of Uses and permit them in all Residential zones other than the Historic District. Steve Livingston moved the recommendation and Bryant Wheeler seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
Board members said the pairing of Article 4 (a Tiny Home definition) and Article 5 (where Tiny Homes are allowed) is intended to give clarity to developers and homeowners considering small-house options. The change would not alter existing Historic District protections.
