Planning Board moves ADU definitions to central zoning definitions

The Hillsborough Planning Board voted unanimously on Jan. 7 to recommend Article 1, which would move and replace the definitions of Accessory, Attached, and Detached Accessory Dwelling Units from section 229-14 into the general definitions section 229-6 of the Zoning Ordinance. Planning Director Robyn Payson presented the warrant article and the Board opened and closed the public hearing without comment.
Board Chair Susanne White called for questions and, with none raised, Steve Livingston moved and the Board voted to place Article 1 on the Town Meeting 2026 ballot in its final form. The motion carried unanimously; no roll-call vote was recorded.
