Council authorizes MOAs with MassDOT to install all‑way stop equipment at three intersections

The Lynn City Council authorized the mayor to sign three Memoranda of Agreement with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation to accept signage and equipment for all‑way stop control at three intersections identified by MassDOT’s technical analysis.
City planner Aaron Klassen explained the program provides technical assistance and material; in Lynn staff proposed Chatham & Mariana, Eastern Ave & Superior, and Ford & Maple for review. Klassen said "as soon as this MOA is signed, MassDOT will sign them and ship the equipment, and we can install them" within 90 days.
Councilors representing affected wards said they had repeatedly requested safety fixes at these intersections and welcomed the state support. The council approved each MOA on separate roll-call votes.
