Two candidates interviewed for Pine Grove Cemetery Commission; committee takes appointments under advisement

Kevin E. Conway, of 8 Rolland Terrace, said his civil engineering and construction background — including proposal-writing, bid procurement and financial tracking — make him suited to the commission’s capital and maintenance work. Conway said he "walked probably every lineal foot" of Pine Grove and has been closely following the Rhodes Chapel rehabilitation.
Lynn Shipley, of 9 Clow Street, told the subcommittee she hopes to expand programming and fundraising, citing examples such as historic walks and bird-watching events modeled on programs at Mount Auburn Cemetery. She described a background in communications and public health and said she wants the cemetery to be more visible and self-sustaining.
Committee members thanked both applicants and moved to take the nominations under advisement for future appointment.
