Allen County Highway Director Bill Hartman presented an InDOT reimbursement agreement for a project to improve visibility of signs and pavement markings at unsignalized intersections in unincorporated Allen County. Hartman said total construction is expected to be about $300,000 and InDOT will reimburse 90 percent; the agreement is allocated in the amount of $314,280 and the project is scheduled to be bid on September 2, 2026. The board approved the reimbursement agreement 3-0 (mover Therese Brown; second Ronald Turpin).
Hartman described the work as countywide improvements aimed at strengthening safety at unsignalized intersections; no additional county match or timetable beyond the bid date was specified in the session record. The county will proceed to bidding and implementation as provided under the reimbursement agreement.
