Board hears community support for sports complex, honors long‑term staff and approves consent agenda

At the start of the May 13 meeting the board heard several positive items and completed routine consent business.
Board member Mike Cerutti reported the City of Hillsboro agreed to help fund new dugouts at the Sports Complex. Principal Frailey announced that 16 students at Beckemeyer Elementary had perfect attendance and were treated to the YMCA in Taylorville. The board honored 20-year employees with engraved pen stands; employees recognized included Dacia Brown, Florence Clark, Jamie Harrison, Marcy Jorn, Terrisa Kirchner, Donald VanGiesen, Rebecca Waters and Jeremy White. Superintendent Powell presented engraved clocks to retirees: David Powell, Patti Heyen, Andy Stritzel, Kathy Baker, Laura Rench, Tim Morford, Terri Jachino and Brian Redman.
President Matt Lentz asked for additions or corrections to several sets of minutes and to the financial report; none were offered. A motion by Kassie Greenwood, seconded by Brian Patton, approved the consent agenda by roll call 6-0.
