Hillsboro board accepts retirements, resignations and approves multiple hires after executive session

After convening in executive session, the Hillsboro CUSD 3 Board returned and took a series of personnel actions May 13.
The board accepted a letter of intent to retire from custodian MaryJo Moore effective Jan. 2, 2026, and from teaching assistant Nancy Reynolds effective Aug. 15, 2025. The board accepted resignations from teaching assistants Katelyn Davis (effective May 2, 2025) and Lacy Kimbro (at the conclusion of the school year), part-time secretary Shelby Ginos (at the conclusion of the school year), and elementary teachers Keri Teague and Carley Brown (at the conclusion of the school year). A motion to accept each resignation or retirement carried by voice vote.
The board then approved a slate of hires and approvals: Jen Anderson as junior high student council sponsor; Lauren Tuetken as junior high softball coach; Amber Kalaher as HHS color guard sponsor; Katie Thacker as a volunteer junior high girls basketball coach; Kim Leible as Birth-to-3 Program Parent Educator; Allie Suess as an elementary teacher; McKenna Moore as a part-time secretary at Beckemeyer Elementary; and Tia Niehaus and Ronald Newton as teaching assistants. Where roll call votes were recorded, the tally was 7-0. The board took no action on restricting an individual's access to district properties.
