Hillsboro board adopts Option A for 2025–26 calendar with Aug. 14 teacher start

Curriculum Director Hope McBrain presented two calendar options for 2025–26. Option A sets teacher report day on Thursday, Aug. 14 and student first day on Monday, Aug. 18; Option B would have an earlier start with teachers reporting Monday, Aug. 11 and students beginning Wednesday, Aug. 13.
Board members noted that with the high school building project wrapping up this summer, a later start could be helpful. On a motion by Brian Patton, seconded by John Lentz, the board approved Option A. The roll call vote was unanimous among members present.
