Treasurer Colter Macy summarized Fire District #2’s plan to levy $20,000 for operations and use existing cash to replace tanker water tanks. Several districts submitted levy proposals that differ from their prior year positions.
The minutes note Fire District #2 proposed 1.416 mills (up from 0) and Fire District #4 proposed 5.674 mills (up slightly from 5.666). Fire Districts #3, #5, #6, #7 and #8 remain at their prior revenue‑neutral rates (8.028, 4.790, 4.490, 4.241 and 4.159 mills, respectively). All fire district budget hearings will be held Sept. 14 at 10:00 AM in the County Commission Meeting Room.
Commissioners accepted the budget reviews and scheduled the public hearings; no final levies were adopted at the July 13 meeting.
