Jeff McCormick of SPN Helms Engineers & Surveyors updated the Brookings County Commission on the Elkton Utility Improvement Project during the May 19 meeting. Chairperson Shawn Hostler said he wanted the county to remain a good partner to the City of Elkton and to "do it right the first time," and Commissioner Doug Post agreed that the county has funds available to proceed.
After discussion of project details and partnership considerations, the board agreed by consensus to move forward with the Elkton project. Staff will continue coordination with the city and engineers to advance design and implementation steps.
