It also approved applying for a tentative $244,856.00 award under the 2024 Public Safety Answering Point Operations Grant Program, effective Jan. 1, 2026 through Dec. 31, 2031, to offset dispatcher salaries. The materials state there are no matching funds required because both awards are formula-based.
Motion to apply for the grants was made by Supervisor Kehl and carried with seven ayes. The minutes note that the formula determines the allocation and that there is "no true application process; state decides based on the formula."
