The Fayette County Board of Commissioners voted May 4 to accept the low bid of $514,189 from Eagle Bridge Co. for the Snowhill Road Bridge Rehabilitation Project (FAY-CR09-2.70).
Fayette County Engineer Jason Little presented the bids and the engineer's estimate of $462,946. Other bids were $629,656 from KT Holden Construction and $693,207 from Axis Civil Construction; the board approved Eagle Bridge Co. on a motion by Commissioner Tony Anderson, seconded by Commissioner Donald Fleak, with all three commissioners voting aye. The contract award follows the county's standard bid-opening process and the county will proceed with contracting and scheduling work under the accepted bid.
