Contracts and grants administrator Vanessa Holloway summarized the bid package and funding sources, saying the total includes a $156,000 base bid plus a $66,900 alternate for a concrete pad; she told the council three bids were received and staff recommended the lowest responsive bidder.
Holloway said funding will come from previously awarded Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds and operational savings or reserves in the Public Services Department. Council Member Rivera moved to award the contract and the motion passed 5-0. Staff said the alternate was included as a precaution in case the existing concrete pad required replacement when ramps and features are installed.
