Council authorizes FIND grant application for Sportsman's Park seawall design

The Lantana Town Council on May 11 approved Resolution R-01-2026, authorizing the town manager to submit an application to the Florida Inland Navigation District (FIND) waterways assistance program for design funding for a new seawall and associated improvements at Sportsman's Park. Town Manager Brian Raducci said the request would cover half of design costs and that the town would seek construction-phase funding after design completion.
Raducci told the council the resolution would enable an application for $300,000 to secure 50% of design costs: "This resolution pertains to the application for grant assistance under the FIND waterways assistance program... It would cover 50% of the cost associated with the design of the new seawall and improvements to Sportsman's Park," he said. Staff framed the request as phase 1 of a multi-year effort to mitigate rising sea levels and protect park assets. The motion to approve the resolution passed 5-0.
If the FIND application is successful, staff said the town would pursue a construction-phase application to complete the seawall project. Council asked for follow-up on schedule and matching-fund planning.
