Lantana library and volunteers win Read for the Record recognition for third year

Mayor Karen Lithgow and council honored library staff and volunteers for their Read for the Record program, which the library said led to recognition from program coordinators. Library staff described a multimonth effort that included reading in schools and day cares and a sensory‑room activity at the main library.
Bailey Maxwell, the library manager, said, “We were just really, happy to have the opportunity to go into the schools and day cares ... and get the chance to read to them.” Library staff credited volunteers and partner organizations for helping Lantana exceed participation expectations; council members thanked the library team and other departments for their work organizing outreach events.
The mayor presented an award and thanked volunteers and staff for their sustained commitment to early literacy in the community.
