Director previews comp‑plan and ULDC work; open houses set for Feb. 19 and 25

At the end of the Jan. 22 meeting the Community Development Director briefed commissioners on several administrative topics and upcoming public engagement. She said the Lifetime Fitness and Havana realignment projects are progressing and are expected to meet their original closing dates. She also noted City Council recently approved a final plat for a three‑story Richmond product with a rooftop deck and previewed a new 7 Brew Coffee application for a southeast corner project.
The director announced two public open houses — Feb. 19 and Feb. 25 — to cover development activity in the Canyons, an economic development plan outreach and an update on the affordable‑housing fast‑track process. She said the city will issue an RFP for a comprehensive plan consultant in 2026 and bring on a separate consultant to lead a technical ULDC (land‑development code) rewrite, with the intention to coordinate both efforts so the code reflects the comp plan.
She asked for volunteer commissioners to assist in evaluating consultant proposals for the comp plan and said the city will form an advisory board including commissioners, council members and stakeholders later in the process.
