Bryan Alexander, president of the tourism commission, told the board members had raised concerns about the bureau's savings and urged a stronger focus on generating "heads in beds" rather than promoting local businesses. County Attorney Wes Schemenaur reviewed the statutory framework for disbursement and noted funds must be used to promote and encourage conventions, visitors and tourism. Commissioners said they seek cooperation between entities and requested by‑laws and clearer governance documentation before taking further disbursement action.
