Bales said she is now an OCRA‑certified grant writer and that local leaders are reallocating READI 2.0 funds, pivoting from a 68‑acre project toward a 10‑acre housing project in Dunkirk.
Bales requested $16,000 in EDIT funds for the Launch Jay pitch competition — roughly $14,500 for prizes and the remainder for supplies — and commissioners unanimously approved requesting the appropriation from EDIT. Commissioners were also provided a nine‑county wage and benefit analysis from Purdue University, and Bales outlined coaching and outreach plans for the competition to increase participant readiness.
