Commissioner Scott Mortimer asked how the trucks would be paid for; Smith said the Special Equipment Fund currently holds a little over $1 million, including the 2025 budgeted transfer, but noted that with the 2025 and 2026 transfers the account would be roughly $200,000 short and that could be filled in the 2027 budget. The Commission reached consensus for Smith to go out to bid and pursue lease-purchase options from Sourcewell and local banks.
