KCAMP awards Ottawa County and expands cyber coverage to $1 million per occurrence

KCAMP representatives briefed the commission on services and presented a risk-management achievement award to Ottawa County.
David Lamb described KCAMP as a multi-line pool owned by counties and outlined services including attorney-assist, contract review, cyber training, sample employee handbooks and risk-avoidance grants. Patrick Smith, KCAMP Risk Manager, presented Ottawa County with a $1,863.96 award for completing risk-management requirements; Emergency Management Director Marie Ballou facilitated the county’s qualifying activities.
County Clerk Tammi Cox summarized a separate KCAMP change to cyber coverage effective Aug. 1, 2025: "They have expanded the per occurrence limits to $1,000,000.00, which were previously $250,000.00. KCAMP has also doubled the pool aggregate limit from $10,000,000.00 to $20,000,000.00. The coverage will remain the same with the exception of two exclusions for War and a large-scale attack on the internet. This is at no additional cost to the county." The commission did not record any vote on these changes during the meeting; Cox indicated the changes are effective Aug. 1.
