Water superintendent: Well #3 installed; hydrant replacements and WWTP fence repairs planned

Water and Sewer Superintendent Jonathan Armstrong reported on Feb. 25 that Well #3 has been installed and the department has begun the required sample process; one sample has been sent and staff are awaiting results before returning the well to service. "Well #3 is installed and we have started the sample process, sent one sample in already, waiting for results, once that is done, we can put it back online," Armstrong said.
Armstrong also said a delivery driver struck and damaged the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) fence; the carrier's insurance has paid for the damages. He outlined plans to replace 24 hydrants in the coming year (locations cited include Main, Clay and Geneva streets) and to install protective measures where hydrants sit close to the road; the work will be included in the 2025–2026 budget. Armstrong and a colleague, "Alex," asked to attend the J & R Expo on March 19, 2025, for continuing education; the minutes note there is no cost to attend.
