Asia Guest (S8) of the Environmental Defense Fund told the board she and partner Catherine Baggett (S9) of the Southern Sustainability Directors Network can provide tailored, philanthropically funded technical assistance to identify and prioritize water-related infrastructure projects and to help the city craft financing strategies and grant applications.
Guest said she has toured flood-impacted areas with the mayor and public-works staff and will work with Public Works director Jason Markham to facilitate talks with Entergy about establishing a resilient hub for public-works operations. Catherine Baggett described programs that can organize projects, review policies and offer grant-writing assistance to support local water goals.
