Staff reads GOP primary vote totals for several contested races

Elections staff presented vote totals for several Republican primary contests during the canvass and read the precinct-level statement of votes cast before commissioners accepted the results.
According to the clerk’s presentation, the results included: “Celeste Malloy got 1,238 votes. Bill Lyman got 534.” The clerk also read other totals aloud: “Daniel Gardner got 563, and Logan j Monson got 1,141.” For the county contests the clerk reported Matthew LeGrand Cox 770 and Celeste Myers 1,032; for County Clerk Auditor Shamil Lam 1,212 and Martin Hepworth 556. After reviewing these totals the commission approved the canvass, and the clerk indicated certificates of election or nomination would be presented to the successful candidates.
The clerk handed commissioners the statement of votes cast broken down by precinct and answered questions about ballot types and challenged ballots before the vote to accept the canvas.
