Jason's Greenhouse cleared of sprinkler requirement but applicant unresponsive

Staff said the planned commercial greenhouse no longer requires sprinkler installation, which staff expected would allow the project to proceed; the applicant, however, has not responded to staff in months.
Staff told the council that for the large commercial greenhouse project on the 300 block, they had worked through the requirements and "got to a point where the fire, sprinklers are not going to be required for it," a determination staff said should have allowed the project to proceed. Despite that, the applicant has not provided further application materials and staff reported no recent contact.
Council members were informed the lack of applicant follow‑up has left the project in limbo despite fire‑safety permitting decisions that removed a significant barrier. Staff will continue to monitor and attempt to reengage the applicant.
