The lieutenant described recovering a rifle and green-tip, armor-piercing ammunition, and said investigators impounded the vehicle and will seek a search warrant. Council members asked whether the suspect was armed when captured; the lieutenant said officers did not see him brandish a weapon at the time of arrest and that detectives would search the impounded vehicle.
The briefing stressed interagency cooperation: the lieutenant described work with the FBI fugitive team, homeland security and other task-force partners to track the suspect to Oregon and ultimately to a freeway capture. The council did not take action during the update, but members thanked the department for the investigation and interjurisdictional coordination.
