County staff presented and the board voted to join a tri‑county procurement for transit operations with Chemung County and the city of Corning. The presenter said the joint RFP is intended to provide options previously discussed for selecting a transit operator and that the FTA encouraged coordination after a recent review of Chemung services.
The board also authorized going out to bid for a new shelter at the Dana Lyons Building. Staff said the previous shelter was vandalized in 2023 and that Accelerated Transit/ATC grants will cover the shelter structure and solar lighting, but that concrete and adjacent infrastructure would not be paid by the grant and remain the village's responsibility.
