During the Measure M presentation, David Flores outlined the districts intent to pursue state Career Technical Education (CTE) grant opportunities for Agricultural Resource Facilities at Foothill High School and the district farm. Flores said each site could be eligible for up to $3 million in state funding; if awarded, the district would match and use approximately $6 million from the bond to complete the projects.
Phase 2 grant applications are due by June 30, according to the minutes, and Flores said the district would allocate bond funds to match any awards. Trustees discussed the availability of matching grants for athletics versus other program areas and noted that competitive state CTE funding could help advance agriculture-science classrooms and industry-aligned programming across sites.
