Key Phase 1 investments include LED lighting and drainage upgrades for varsity softball and baseball fields to allow evening use, a modular culinary building at EHS (a project moved from Measure I to Measure M), primary chiller-unit replacements across all four sites, and demolition and reconstruction of the Transportation Yard.
Flores said the Transportation Yard work will require relocating five portable buildings from SHS three to Foothill High School, one to the district farm and one to remain on site and that those moves must occur before August to clear space for construction. He also described financial planning steps including staggering project timing, use of Bond Anticipation Notes (BANs) and a planned bond sale within the next year. The minutes record the districts broader infrastructure need at approximately $174 million; Flores estimated Phase 1 at about $20 million of the $56 million bond.
