Staff announced a special meeting at 9:00 a.m. Monday to present the Jensen Hughes study regarding the Percollo Fire. The presentation will be given to the county first in chambers, then to the City Council at noon; staff emphasized the consultant engagement was initiated by the county and joined by the city on a 50/50 cost split.
Tom clarified the procurement and the timeline for the dual presentations and corrected media reports that had implied the study was solely a City of Wichita contract. "It is a joint consultant that the county initiated and the city graciously came on board and we were doing a fiftyfifty, split on the cost of that consultant work," Tom said. Commissioners were told both bodies would have time to ask questions during their respective sessions.
