"Pulse point, would be simultaneously activated at the same time the person makes the 911 call. So PulsePoint would send out an alert. My phone would vibrate and says, hey, there's a cardiac arrest 10 feet away from you," Scott Wagness explained as he described the potential to shorten time to CPR and early defibrillation.
Presenters explained responder tiers (public CPR responders for public places, registered responders for private residences, professional responders and AED responders), privacy protections (private residences are not broadcast to the general public), and limitations of the initial deployment (it covers incidents routed through Solano ECC; other PSAPs would need separate contracts). Staff said PulsePoint data can reduce unnecessary 911 follow‑ups by indicating active investigations and will be linked from the county website; boardmembers recommended adding app links to the new site.
