The high school leadership team presented results from a recent survey of 81 students in grades 9–12. Charlotte Schlegel delivered the leadership report noting that "Overall survey results showed that the biggest challenge students face is worrying about their grades (65%) followed by feeling interested in class (46%) and mental health challenges (30%)." The report said 9th graders reported the highest level of worry about grades and 12th graders reported the highest level of mental-health concerns.
To address the findings, leadership proposed a girls' mental-health group (mirroring an existing boys' group) and a twice-weekly 'Power Hour' tutoring program pairing upperclassmen with freshmen. The board raised questions about administration oversight, college and career readiness supports, and communication gaps the students reported; no immediate policy changes were made at the meeting.
