Resident urges painted markings at yield-sign intersections to reduce unsafe turns

Joyce Dreiling addressed the council during citizens-to-be-heard and reported vehicle drivers turning from the wrong side of yield signs at intersections on Joe Ramsey and King Street and at an approach near the hospital. She asked the city to consider "just a small strip of paint put on both those intersection[s]" to guide drivers and reduce dangerous turns.
The mayor thanked Dreiling for raising the concern. Staff noted no further public testimony was scheduled on the item and did not record an immediate follow-up, but the mayor encouraged residents to submit a comment card and staff to follow up on traffic marking and maintenance.
