Board member Depp McCann introduced and moved a resolution to accept donations to support student events and winter safety needs. The resolution lists $1,150 donated for sweetheart and glow dances and safety events by the Kenyon Volunteer Fire Department and mittens and gloves valued at $60 donated by the First Lutheran Church of Kenyon; the board approved the resolution by roll call, 5–0.
"Resolution for acceptance of donations, whereas the following has been generously donated, $1,150 for the sweetheart dance, glow dance, and Sundays, and safety events donated by the Kenyan Volunteer Fire Department, and a donation of mittens and gloves, the $60 value from the 1st Lutheran Church of Kenyan," Depp McCann read when introducing the resolution. The board voted in favor (Tanya Craig, Deb Pecan, Erica Aronson, Marilyn Severson, Madeline Larkin recorded as aye) and the resolution carried 5–0.
Administration will process the donations and allocate funds and items to the named events and safety programs. The board did not place restrictions beyond the uses listed in the resolution.
