Shasta Union High trustees approve routine business; ratify $3.36 million in warrants and $4.47 million payroll

The Shasta Union High School District Governing Board on May 12 approved its agenda and consent calendar, taking a string of routine actions that included ratifying commercial warrants and payroll distributions and adopting several personnel and instructional items.
Trustee Joe Ayer moved approval of the consent agenda, which carried 5-0. The Board ratified commercial warrants totaling $3,356,587.84 and payroll distributions of $4,466,525.58 for the period April 1–30, 2026. The Board also accepted the P-2 Rate of Attendance Report and the Quarterly Report of Investment, approved surplus property requests (including an FHS kiln and district IT equipment), adopted salary schedules for CSEA, supervisory and confidential employees, and approved textbook adoptions for the Descubre 2027 Spanish series for Spanish 1–3.
The Board approved a Shasta Collegiate Academy field trip to Hawaii (July 12–17, 2026) and accepted the Human Resources Action Report and an updated Accounting Technician job description. “That the Board ratify commercial warrants in the amount of $3,356,587.84 and payroll distributions in the amount of $4,466,525.58 for the period of 4/01/2026 – 4/30/2026,” the minutes record as the motion the Board carried. District staff said they are developing the adopted budget and expect to present it to the Board in about four weeks as labor negotiations continue.
