Council approved Change Order No. 2 with Haren Construction Company, Inc. on June 11, 2026, granting a 90-day contract-time extension for wastewater treatment plant upgrades. The extension was requested because of unforeseen existing conditions and additional work required to complete the project; the motion was moved by Council Member Joey Bagwell, seconded by Jerome Kizer, and passed unanimously.
Mayor Crawford Moore noted the South Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) has extended the grant period for all grant recipients to December 31, 2026, providing additional time for grant-funded projects to reach completion. The town reported wastewater has been diverted back into the newly lined lagoon and substantial completion is scheduled for June 26, 2026.
