Resident Kim Jacobs told the Upper Hanover Township Board on Aug. 12 that a berm on YMCA property adjacent to his home at 1427 Quakertown Road is not being properly maintained and that the YMCA’s parking‑lot lights are now being left on until about 3:00 a.m. He said the lights “used to be off at 11PM,” and that the change will be a problem in fall and winter months.
The board directed LTL Consultants to send a letter to the YMCA about the berm and lighting. Chairperson Steven Rothenberger said he would reach out to Rob Carpenter at the YMCA to raise the concerns. The exchange occurred during the meeting’s public‑comment period and did not result in a formal motion or enforcement action; the record shows only that the board asked staff and consultants to contact the YMCA.
