The Board approved a resolution declaring two District-owned parcels totaling three acres behind Pioneer High School as exempt surplus land and indicated intent to sell the property to the City of Redding.
Associate Superintendent David Flores said the District had been unaware of ownership until the City raised the issue about a year ago; the City plans to rebuild a pump house along the River Trail. Flores said a third-party appraisal valued the properties at $40,000, and the proposed sale price of $48,000 reflects recovery of administrative and legal costs. Following approval of the resolution, Flores said the District will advertise the proposed sale in the newspaper for a three-week period and bring a purchase agreement to the Board for approval at the April meeting.
The Board approved the resolution (RES.26-052).
